Babies - Eczema
Abstract
Baby eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis or atopic eczema, is a common condition that appears as patches of dry, red, scaly or itchy skin. Sometimes the patches can ooze and crust over. The itching may disturb the infant’s sleep. Estimates of children affected by atopic eczema in South Africa have ranged from 0.7 – 10%. Most children will grow out of it by the age of 5 years.
