Abstract
Vitamins are organic substances that cannot be produced by the human body. The only way of getting all of the vitamins that the body needs is to ingest them, in small quantities, through the diet. Vitamins are essential for normal cell function, growth and development. There are 13 essential vitamins which the body needs to function. They can be divided into two groups, fat-soluble or watersoluble vitamins.
